ghosts in town
Iceness, not just climatic, is what hundreds of migrants have to face every day, once arrived in Serbian territory after a desperate journey that lasted for weeks. The massive migratory impulse from countries in disarray such as Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan, favored in part by the conciliating promises of welcoming European states such as Germany, is interrupted by an icy disregard once arrived at the gates of the old continent Hungary and Croatia, raising palisades, created a sort of "bottleneck" in the Serbian capital jamming the reception machine. The beds of the facilities for migrants have quickly run out, priority has therefore been given to women and children, leaving thousands of men adrift, forced to wander around Belgrade as ghosts and to find makeshift shelters, like an old train depot in the center of the city. Lacking any kind of basic service, such as running water, toilets, electricity and heating, they have been left to face the harsh Balkan winter, with temperatures that drop to -15 °C at night.
